Hi! I love your photos! I work as a traveling naturalist, so I go all over and take animals with me and go into schools and teach classes about these animals. We have an owl program, and I am currently working on making some new posters for it. I was wondering if wed be able to use one or two of your pictures (especially the Barred Owl eating), and use them on our posters... Let me know if this is something youd be interested in, please email me. Thank you, Jessica

Hi Cal, I met you about 4 years ago by the pond in CP when I was living in nyc. I bought 2 photos from you. (1) American Robin feeding chicks in nest built on Juliet chest Statue of Romeo and Juliet in front of Delacorte Theatre. (2) Pale Male and Lalo perched on either side of nest with their young on 5th Ave building. I have treasured both these photos. Many friends have admired the pictures and I have referred them to you. So glad we met and talked for while. Rebekah Santa Monica, CA

We were walking in Central Park Saturday and came across a black crowned night heron. Thanks to your web site I was able to identify him. He was sitting by a small pond not far from the Museum of Natural Sciences and oblivious to all the people. He only stirred when a raccoon came out of the wooded area and started stalking him. Fantastic!

Im kind of new to NY, so this morning jogging by The Ramble I didnt know what to think when I saw an enormous, fat, white bird that was built like an owl but had the head of a hawk. He was sitting high in a tree, while other birds tried to chase him away. When I got home I started googling and found your website. I checked out the owls, and almost thought it was a snowy owl, then I looked in hawks and there he was: it was Pale Male. I guess all the other joggers already knew this local celebrity. I was the only one staring at him in perplexity until he grudgingly flew off toward Fifth Avenue. Your site is fantastic, it a bird identification guide to our little part of the world! I will make use of it regularly. Thanks so much and best wishes to you, H.W. NYC

Cal I would like to thank you so much for sharing all your bird photos here on your page. and for the Photo of the Tree Swallow Feeding Fledgling Marine Nature Study Area, Ocenaside, New York, United States...since I live in Oceanside...though I never have yet ventured into the Marince Nature Study Area But since viewing your photos of the variety of birds you shared here, I will be taking my Cannon Powershot with me this week and will be venturing there this week...I have never realized what I have called baby blue jays were actually from your photos a tufted titmouse (I feed the local birds around me daily) and for the first time in the 20+ years here in Oceanside, I never saw pidgeons as the ones I seen from your Central Park photos...until last week when i saw one..the next day...I saw that one and 1 more...and it grew daily with conestive day there appeared one more...until I had a total of 8 and each one is different in color the each other...2 are the same but the rest are all different...I have to get my camera to work better (or maybe I have to be a better cameraman myself) anyway....thanks for sharing your wonderful photos
