Owls of the genus Bubo are called the eagle owls and include the largest owls in the world. The Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) is an eagle owl. Though the Great Horned Owl is somewhat smaller than the Eurasian Eagle Owl, these two owls look quite a bit alike and have similar habits.

Owls never build their own nests, and eagle owls will either appropriate a large stick nest from a raptor or corvid, or they use debris platforms in trees or on cliffs. If an owl can find a cavity, in a tree or where ever, those are choice sites.
